How it works
In order to join the project, you need to register and enter the site.
Registration makes it possible to get access to open data posted on the portal, and namely:
  • you can use the open algorithms of the community of researchers and test them on your data, and so also contact authors and ask them questions about the method they proposed;
  • you can use open, anonymized datasets to test your algorithms and run around your learning analytics data analysis techniques
  • you will stay on top of all the latest research directions and research trends in the field of learning analytics by accessing materials and publications of your colleagues' research results.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to declare yourself in the research community, share your algorithms and data, discuss them with colleagues.

How to join the project
Access to EdTechData is free.
To join the community and to access EdTechData, you need to go to address: ______________ to authenticate at your university or account _________. After authenticating, if you have never logged into EdTechData, you will be prompted to create a free account. No information we collect will be transferred to third parties.
How to use community algorithms
You do not need permission to view or use the publicly available community algorithms.

To access private algorithms, first create an account (see "How to Join a Project" above), then go to the Algorithms and Data tab and click the Request Access button next to the name of the project you want to access. In the dialog box that appears, enter a brief reason why you want to access. The access request will be sent to the project's principal investigator and data provider (if one exists).
How to use public datasets
You do not need permission to view or use publicly available datasets; they are freely available to any researcher in the world.

To access your private data, first create an account (see "How to Join a Project" above), then go to the Algorithms and Data tab and click the Request Access button next to the name of the project you want to access. In the dialog box that appears, enter a brief reason why you want to access. The access request will be sent to the project's principal investigator and data provider (if one exists).

If you are not sure what information you need, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
How to offer your data and algorithms to the community
If you have already created an EdTechData account, write to support and briefly describe the essence of your research: purpose, objects, methodology, as well as the format of data and algorithms. After that, the support team will contact you to agree on the placement of information about the study, and methods of transfer / placement of data.
What is the EdTechData platform for?
The trend in education is the rapid development of online learning technologies
  • There is a shift from traditional in-class learning models to online courses.
New technologies have their own specifics
  • Online courses have a large number of students. There is no personal contact in the learning process.
This creates new challenges for the education system.
  • How to provide an individual approach to students and the necessary contact with the teacher (the strength of the traditional learning model) in online courses?
  • How to form individual learning paths for students of higher educational institutions using online learning technologies?
  • How to ensure the safety of the student body in the working conditions of Russian universities?
  • How to motivate students to succeed and support them if something goes wrong?
  • How to evaluate the quality and relevance of online courses and improve them?
  • How to evaluate student progress in learning when traditional methods do not work?
